CRM SmartMap requires a 1-time setup to add geocodes to your contact records. The one-time cost is ONE PENNY for each record. This cost will cover the geocoding of your Dynamics 365 – Sales Records and a one-time set-up of the application*. Geocoding is the process of assigning latitude and longitude coordinates to the physical street address so that the location points can be displayed on a map.
As part of the CRM SmartMap solution install, an inline geocoder will be installed to handle changes to addresses or new address as you use the application.
*Please note that there will be an additional time & material charge if you are installing CRM SmartMap in a “sandbox environment”, or other location and then moving the application to a “live environment”.
You must already have complete physical address information in your Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales / CRM database.
- A PO Box is not the physical address of the Account but rather the location of the post office where the PO Box is located.
- Street address without information such as city, state or zip code will not geocode correctly if at all. A geocoder will not guess at what city/state the address is located in for 123 Main Street.
- A zip code alone will cause the mapping tool to return poor results. Zip code by itself will be located to the center of the zip code boundary rather than the physical of the Account. Cities alone without zip codes will produce the same result, moved to the middle of the city boundary
